With the release of the new single “The Reason”, Toluwanimee set in motion the journey towards the premiere of the debut album “Go Deeper”.

She had announced the release of the album last year May, after she dropped the single “WOW”, which was produced by Wilz, but natal care and the events that followed had slowed down the process of getting the album out. This birthed the release of the single “The Reason” where Toluwanimee laconically told the testimony that led to the release of the single, thereby, explaining why the album was delayed.

You have heard the words ‘man proposes, God disposes’ by the 15th-century author, Thomas Kempis. This is true because as Toluwanimee was making plans for the album God needed to use a season in her life to get testimony out, which will be a pillar of strength for many. Toluwanimee is a worshipper and would have done so, even in her sleep but by divine providence, she received a deeper epiphany for her worship. Reiterating the premise, Toluwanimee said:

“About 6 months ago, God delivered me from serious health complications. Honestly, I didn’t need a reason because worship is what I was born to do but he gave me a season and another reason so here now I am singing his praises. This is the inspiration behind ‘The Reason’“ .

As it stands, “The Reason” will be ushering the “Go Deeper” album in. If you are familiar with Toluwanimee’s music, then there is every reason to be excited!

Her music which sits in the Contemporary – sometimes Urban – Christian music genre has seen a wide range of the best hands in sound crafting including Wilson Joel, Wilz, Sunny Pee and more. It goes without saying that Toluwanimee does not play down on excellence. Her vocal prowess and piercing pitch is also a signature. You cannot hear Toluwanimee’s music and be second-guessing. Moreover, the lyrical richness of her music shows that her spiritual encounters are reflected in her music. More than once, She has narrated how some of her songs were birthed and one constant element is the secret place factor.

“Forever,” “Sekki,” “Miracle God,” “Ultimate Price,” “Lord Today,” and “WOW” are some of the singles which have left indelible marks on the Gospel terrain, not only because of the excellence and professionalism but also for their timeliness. So if Toluwanimee can get the essence of her message right with her singles, because of the God-factor, rest assured there will be more on the album… little wonder its titled “Go Deeper”

There is more for Toluwanimee, there is more for you! Toluwanimee’s underlying theme is that you need to go deeper on this journey with Jesus and the tracks on the album are necessary companies on this journey! Hence, Psalm 107:24 says:

“They saw the deeds of the LORD, his wondrous works in the deep”

International gospel artiste, singer, songwriter and praise/worship leader, Ama Shallangwa, releases spanking new single titled “Great is Our God” to celebrate her birthday today.

Commenting on the new single, Ama, who is also a doctor, said:

“Great is our God and greatly to be praised! I will forever sing of your praises oh Lord.

“10 years ago, it was all doom and gloom for me, but here I am today, still standing strong and tall only by God’s mercy.

“Here is a brand new song, inspired by the Holy Spirit to reach mankind. It was conceived 8 years ago when going through a bitter time, shame, sickness and disease, and unseen arrows that flyeth night and day. This song continued to minister to me and alas!, I have come out victorious. So, today, by divine instructions, I release “Great is Our God” as a birthday gift to the world.

“If it had not been the Lord who was on my side when men rose up against me; but my soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and I am escaped. Psalm 124:1-7. Therefore, I must tell the whole world of his greatness through this song.

“Indeed, Great is our God and greatly to be praised. Psalm 48:1

“Please accept this humble gift from me, play it, pray it, enjoy it and and if you have a story like mine, or if you have seen God’s hand in your life, keep praising him. Hallelujah!”

LYRICS

Great Is Our God By Ama Shallangwa

All creation bow before him, every nation every tongue they worship you

You alone deserve all glory, forever Lord you’ll be exalted above all things

To you oh God, is the greatness, is the power, the glory and majesty

You reign on high, now in splendour

Your name is lifted above all things

Chorus:

Great is our God and greatly to be praised

In the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness

Bridge:

Sing Praise, we give you Praise

Sing Praise, we give you praise

Hallelujah, hallelujah!

Dear Artiste,

Happy new year. From my corner I want to sincerely wish you a good music year.

As usual it will be of interest to share my thoughts as we usher in a new year in all its enthusiasm. What plans do you have to further put your music out there?

To start with, every year comes with its trend. Unfortunately no artiste has the monopoly of the industry. Churches go for who is popular at the time and so it beckons on you to work hard, build a solid team, sign up with companies that can make you achieve a milestone in this new year.

Go beyond the social media noise to making tangible impact.

Let’s take snapshot back, in the year that just ended most gospel artistes became motivational speakers instead of cooking good music. Instead of researching and working on personal development, many waited for what song will trend and the copy-cat follows. It doesn’t end here, dependence on one producer who produced a hit to produce you will box you into a corner. This does not mean you should not work with such persons, but while doing so be yourself because the trend will only be to replicate what has been done in a slightly different way.

Have a check on your actual performance online, downloads, purchases and interactions. Viability is not just the number of likes, how many people bought your song or downloaded for free, how many real fans are you are able to gather? Beyond the church do you have enough crowd to host a sold out show?

Moving on, while working with anyone, please don’t be greedy. It’s the team’s responsibility for you all to make money and when it happens to become the boss overnight.

In this new year many artistes will emerge with great sound and massive acceptability, if the old sit tight without re-inventing they will fizzle out. Your market value drops as new acts emerge.

In this year, don’t just work towards an album, host events, tour and grow your followership across board. Seize all opportunities to build a lasting brand. For every song you release build new innovative ways to promote and push to the next level.

It’s a new year, it’s not just about doing new things, it’s about self-discovery, new method of doing things, building teams, and creating content that will last. It’s a time to build synergy and grow. Don’t wait to loose market value before you wake up. Raise new talents and re-invent yourself.

As you embark on this journey, it will be rough and sweet, it will cost you money and time. Find a means to fund your music until it starts paying off.  Don’t box yourself into a location, get your content out you don’t know who is waiting just to hear your song in another location and that could be your starting point to stardom.

In 2018 on a personal note, I’d like to see more unity amongst gospel folks, not just copying and secretly not being in support of the progress of one another . It’s time to move forward not just alone but with everyone in the mini-dustry. Finally, pay for services those offering the service have bills to take care. Take your brand serious and grow it.

Billy Graham Prepares to Celebrate 99th Birthday This Month

In anticipation of Billy Graham’s 99th birthday, Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, released the following statement about his father:

Nov. 7 will be a big milestone for my father as he turns 99 and enters his 100th year. As a family, we are just so very grateful that he is still with us. His mind is good but he’s quieter these days. He can’t see or hear well, but his health is stable.

“On his birthday, some family will be with him and we’ll give him his favorite cake—a lemon cake with lard icing. He loves those cakes—but it has to have the lard icing.

“At the Billy Graham Library we’ll have a special celebration that day, as this year is also the 10th anniversary of the opening of the library. We’ll have birthday cake for everyone who comes by.

“Also as my father enters his 100th year, for the year leading up to his 100th birthday, we are going to honor what God has done through him by highlighting significant moments of his life and some eight decades of ministry. The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is moving strong into the future, but it’s also important to celebrate the past, so each month we will focus on a particular decade and highlight significant things like his 16-week evangelistic crusade in New York City, his impact on worldwide evangelism and personal testimonies of people whose lives were forever changed at one of my father’s crusades. During this next year we’ll have special content on billygraham.org and in Decision magazine, so be sure to check those out. My father always wants the focus to be on the Lord Jesus Christ, and not on him; and so we will point to the amazing ways God has worked in lives around the world, through the ministry of Billy Graham.

“I know my father is grateful for all the prayers for him and birthday wishes on this special occasion.”

It’s Now Illegal to Evangelize in Nepal

Nepal’s president recently signed into law a bill making evangelism and conversion to another religion a punishable offense in the country.

According to The Christian Post, Nepalese President Bidhya Devi Bhandari signed into law legislation that makes evangelism and religious conversion punishable by up to five years in prison.

Bhandari reportedly signed the legislation on Oct. 16. Nepalese lawmakers initially passed bills against evangelism and conversion back in August.

Religious leaders in Nepal have decried the new law and said it is a step backwards for religious freedom.

“We are deeply saddened that this bill is now law,” said Pastor Tanka Subedi, the founding member and chair of Dharmik Chautari Nepal and Religious Liberty Forum Nepal. “Our appeals to the president and other policy makers to amend this have been ignored. Nepali government have taken a regressive step as this law severely restricts our freedom of expression and our freedom of religion or belief.”
